Curt Prendergast, opinion editor for the Arizona Daily Star, invited us and our opponents to attend the forum: "We'd like our readers to get to know you as they consider their votes in the November general election. To that end, we are inviting you to a candidate interview."

Over the course of 90 minutes, we spoke with Curt about a variety of topics. These included our perspectives on the teacher shortage, the Covid learning loss (or as we prefer to say, the Covid learning trajectory), mental health, school safety, standardized testing, book censorship, curriculum design, parental involvement, Critical Race Theory (CRT), and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Listeners also had the opportunity to learn more about our individual views, our belief in making independent fact-based decisions, and our shared belief in the remit of school board members: To create the environment for every one of CFSD's 5,400 students to thrive.
