Letter to the editor: Teacher retention at stake

High-Quality Teachers a Must

As a Manzanita parent, I appreciated the early introduction to the candidates. My main concern is that CFSD continues to hire and retain high-quality teachers. I was horrified when I read the Back to Basics micro-parenting platform which encourages parents to attend classes and approve daily lesson plans. It will be difficult to retain excellent teachers when we don't empower or trust them. Thrive 4 CFSD's candidates Amy Bhola, Amy Krauss, and Gina Mehmert support improving the district's current approach of maintaining a strong community that involves it highly qualified teachers.
